Cutting English Tan Dublin leather for Johnny the Fox wallets. ashlandleather.com/
There is no pine tar applied to game balls. They mud them them to get them game ready; much like baseball.
I appreciate Wyatt Gilmore's honesty in this interview. The interviewer is pitching softballs to hang on to and ride a narrative... and Wyatt stays to the unvarnished truth: Look it's a business. We're doing what we can given the materials we have. He showed no BS about some company mission or some other nonsense narrative. Wyatt is no politician, he's just an honest and pragmatic business man. Refreshing.
I am gutted that I missed this
There are a couple colors still up
I did take a look, but none of them quite pop...I could, in theory, get the Teal Cypress + English Tan or Garnet made to order?
@@michealboudreaux Yes of course!
When I saw the email for the grab bag Bugs Moran, I knew I had to snag one right away. It came in today and is gorgeous. I got the exact reverse black one showcased and it is amazing. Please do more of these in the future.
I recently bought the vertical Bugs Moran psychedelic with green shell. Amazing colors and smell omg it’s amazing to smell
Video was posted 3hrs ago and already out of stock??
Please do this in the Tony or tall Tony model. Great idea!!
Almost bought one but I had to remind myself im holding out for a fat Herbie. Also, still enjoying my Tony the Ant.
Same, I was close to picking one up but have three other Bugs currently. Great stuff!
Damn sold out before even finishing the video. Congrats to all those who got wallets! Hopefully it wasn't just one person buying them all out
Nice
I have the small zip with extra card slots & I love it. Quick access Phil. Love it. 😊
가장 짧고 슬픈 썸네일이네요.
The thumbnail is a reference to a potential Hemingway poem: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." is a six-word story, popularly attributed to Ernest Hemingway

Football enthusiast think that they need to rub mud on their horween leather footballs because they see NFL teams do it and think it somehow helps the leather. This may be ok if you're only looking to use a ball for a few plays maybe a game but if you want your horween leather football to last years to come it's a bad idea I've tried telling this to consumers but they don't listen
I subscribed so I get private stock alerts! :)
They all look amazing but that first wallet is a piece of art!
Hey man, great vid! I was wondering why did you use the tanning blend? Wouldnt the venetian cream suffice? Im asking cause where in located i cant get the tanners blend and can only use venetian but my chromexcel mocs are super dull. Btw, the chromepack soles rule! Have them in some Quoddy mocs that i usually use indoors or at the woods but never the street. Do you use yours in concrete and asphalt? Thanks!
I used the Tanner's Blend because it seems to clean well and it pairs perfectly with CXL leather. I haven't worn these shoes in a bit but I did wear them on the street, concrete and asphalt. The soles get dented by rocks
How does this compare to the Fat Herbie in overall height?
Gorgeous! Love my Johnny the Fox so much, even though it’s so thick! Such a beautiful Amaretto!
I would buy one of these wallets but unfortunately they are not hand-stitched. It looks like I am buying elsewhere. Dont want my wallet stitching unraveling one day.
Gorgeous!
♦️
What are they doing ?😮
They are staining Chromexcel (CXL) leather at Horween
Kind of a silly question, but would you say the 1.5" black with brass buckle be suitable for formal wear in addition to casual wear? Thank you!
Personally I don't think so. However, I do it anyways. Typically a formal belt is 1.25" and is usually a stitched, two-layer belt with a different (painted/stained) edge finish.
Does cypress have a superior break to Dublin?
I know this video was made a while back, but thank you! It was great to watch and learn from.
That machine makes me anxious. Finger smasher 5100. I love my shell though. Thank you to this brave man.
+1 And hey, the "finger-flattener" risk just adds to the elure and crazy expensive cost of Ashland's Horween shell wallets.
@@BuffaloNickel9 I love my black marbled Capone wallet. THis man risked life and limb for our wallets.
That's got me curious. Is unstained Chromexcel "Crust" Chromexcel?
That's right! Crust leather is a status that is after the leather has been tanned and dried but before any finishing. It's like a blank canvas
@@AshlandLeather Awesome! I gotta ask about this on the Full Grain Podcast, but I don't think I've ever seen crust Chromexcel anywhere. Wonder if there's a market for it. Would love to see that as an Ashland product!!
On the smaller of the two lucky wallets with out the flap do you have to fold the cash in thirds ? I’m loving both
Is there only one Johnny the fox with the latigo on this drop?
More to come soon.
Take your time, I snagged the one😎
Really sad that the prices hike like hell been a Long customer since the beginning of this company and really the price got too high way high. I understand the inflation but not being too greedy. Just my thoughts.
What are you talking about? Their prices haven't significantly changed in the nine years I've been buying from them, with the one exception of a hand-stitch upcharge now and custom build cost.
Frank the Enforcer is truly the best wallet in your collection and it isnt even close
Gorgeous work as always
Great stuff as usual!!
All of those wallets and only two fat herbies, I boo this private stock lol. Been waiting on private stock shell fat herbies, but not a fan of those 2. Don’t want to pay extra for special order since I don’t like not being able to see stamps/wallet prior to buying.
FINALYYY, I've been waiting on this private stock and its been killing me considering that I lost my wallet 2 weeks ago. Thanks Phil!
Did you get a new wallet?
Wait you said tomorrow June 6?
I noticed the same thing. He corrected himself at the end and said “June 4th.”
Darn it. Tomorrow June 4 confirmed. Sorry
Incredible. Will there be multiples of each wallet?
That all reverse hand stitched bugs at the beginning looks amazing 🥰
Phil- what’s the measurements of the vertical 8 Tony and Vertical 8 Bugs?
They all look fire , I love mine
English tan Dublin?
love it - true connoisseur
So did you make the fat herbie first or did mascon leather make the chunky charlie first? Just curious.
I started making Fat Herbie in 2011. Not sure when Chunky Charlie came about but I think it was several years later
@@AshlandLeather oh ok, that's cool. I was just curious, I didn't mean to imply anything by it or anything.
In your opinion, how does this bison compare to law tannings offerings?
What a great video ! Even though I toured the tannery in mid-May I still am enthralled by the whole process . Skip Horween guided us thru his world with great pride and knowledge , I can see the same love in Nick Horween . And kudo’s to Ashland for bringing videos like this to UA-cam ! Keep up the great work !
Fallujah!
Beautiful
Grey belts????!!
I really hope some green ones drop soon.
